If you are using water based paint, rollers & brushes can be individually wrapped in cling film or put in small plastic sandwich bags. This keeps the air from drying them out & you can re-use the brushes & rollers for maybe 3 days before you really need to clean them.
I loathe oil based paint products because I am allergic to the smell of white spirit thinners used to clean the brushes.
Paint manufacturers are now under direction from the Government in the UK to remove oil based products from sale & replace them with water based ones. Finally they are seeing sense & thinking about the contamination of our water & waterways which is really good news.
If I do have occasion to use an oil based product I leave the brush in a can of cold water overnight until the job is finished & then throw the brush away. As oil & water don’t mix the brush can be taken out of the water, wiped with kitchen towel roll & re-used.
